Kid-friendly restaurants in Charleston, SC and surrounding areas
I’ll start by telling you that going out with kids can be difficult. I compiled a list of friendly places where to bring your active young and not so young children in Charleston of a bite to eat. As a mom of 3 kids of different ages I have our favorites spots worked out. Will it be lunch or dinner, there is a place for every taste and occasion. Check out my list and feel free to add your own in comments:
1. Edmund’s Oast brewery https://edmundsoast.com
Green grass area for kids to run around and play plus great beer for adults and awesome ice cream sandwiches! My family favors this place during the summer and is very popular among the locals and tourists alike.
2. Coastal Crust wood fire pizza https://www.coastalcrust.com/mount-pleasant is another great spot for kids. Tasty pizza, outdoor seating with truck playground is perfect for young children and families.
3. Frothy Beard brewery https://charleston.frothybeard.com is located in West Ashley part of Charleston and is a staple for that area. Big tap room saving different times of beer, great food from huge slices of pizza to sandwiches is definitely worth your visit. Kids will enjoy playing non the Nintendo and jingo in the back room!
4. Paisano’s Pizza https://paisanoschas.com Mt. Pleasant location has a separate arcade room for the kids to play! And it also helps that the pizza is great!
5. Garage 75 https://garage75.com on James island is a great family oriented sport’s bar features arcade room and tv’s to watch for all the sport fans!
6. King’s Tide Daniel island https://www.thekingstide.com is waterfront restaurant serving tasty drinks and even tastier fare, kids will have a ball enjoying the playground right in front of the restaurant.
7. Tattooed Moose Both location have plenty of space for kids to run around outside! Above all, Park circle location has beautiful mural that is great for pictures
8. Crafty Draught Charleston https://www.facebook.com/craftydraught/ is a craft beer bar in Mt. Pleasant area. Kid and dog friendly joint is perfect for families with different weekly events and food trucks you can’t go wrong!
9. New realm brewery https://newrealmbrewing.com on Daniel island is our favorite to go. First, on the last Sunday of the month the brewery is known to host Ale and Octane car show that attracts car enthusiasts from the area, to participate and to check out. Second, Connect 4, Jumbo Jenga and live band make it perfect destination for families.
10. Charleston sport’s pub is rounding up my list. https://www.charlestonsportspub.com/west-ashley West Ashley location has great arcade games that my kids love. This low key location has great wings and carries a variety of beers along with tv’s for all your sport watching needs!
Going out with kids can be a tiresome affair. My kids have very different preference in food and it can be very hard to please everyone. I am sure there are some other places that my list is missing and I am looking forward to updating this list. Charleston has a lot of great places to eat out and we always try a new spot.
